- Your content lives on your device. Bookmarks and connected accounts are stored securely on your phone.
- You're in control. Analytics are completely anonymous and you can turn them off. You can also delete your account and all data at any time.
1. Information We Collect & How We Use It
Siloe is built to keep your data as private as possible while providing a seamless bookmarking experience. Here is what we collect and why:
- Account Profile: Your email, chosen username, and basic settings help us sync your profile across devices.
- Bookmarks & Media: The links, content, and media you save live securely on your device. We only encrypt and sync them to our servers if you enable cross-device sync.
- Social Connections: Your social connection details (like X or Reddit) stay securely wrapped on your device and are used locally to import your saves.
- Analytics & Crash Reports: We collect anonymous event data to understand what's working and fix bugs. You can opt out of this in Settings.
- AI & Search Tools: When you use on-device or cloud-powered smart features (like categorization or search), we seamlessly process relevant text to give you results without permanently storing it, and we do not use your data to train models.
- Subscriptions: Payment processing is handled safely via the App Store or Google Play. We only verify your active membership.
2. Third-Party Services
We partner with a few trusted services (for things like secure hosting, analytics, and AI processing) to make Siloe work. These partners are bound by privacy agreements and do not use your connected-account credentials. When you sign in with Apple or Google, that flow is governed by their respective privacy terms.
3. Your Rights & Security
You have the right to access, export, or delete your information at any time. You can disconnect platforms, toggle off analytics, or permanently delete your account directly through the app settings.
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit, and any social-platform credentials you connect are stored securely on your own device.
4. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence safely. Where legally required, we rely on standard and lawful transfer mechanisms.
5. Changes and Contact
We may tweak or update this policy from time to time. If we make big changes, we'll let you know. If you ever have a privacy request, account deletion, or simply want to chat about your data, email us at support@siloe.app. A real human will assist you.
